US Steel appoints Emily Chieng as investor relations officer, effective in September. She will succeed Kevin Lewis, who took on the role of VP, finance last December.
Chieng joins USS from Goldman Sachs, where she was VP, equity research, North America Metals & Mining, covering 20 stocks across industrial and precious metals, metal processors and the steel industry.
In her new position, Chieng will focus on enhancing understanding and awareness of the company’s Best for All strategy by facilitating communications between current and prospective investors, the company’s senior leadership team and the broader financial community.
“Her extensive experience as a research analyst in the sector is an exciting addition to our existing investor relations team,” said Lewis. “Emily has built a reputation of understanding the metals and mining industry and effectively communicating with the financial community.”
USS posted a 20.6 percent decline in 2Q revenues to $5B. Net income tumbled 51.2 percent to $477M.
The company's stock trades at $24.66. 52-week range is $31.55, $17.88.
