Travel and economic development PR powerhouse Development Counsellors International has hired Michelle Bamford to lead its Toronto office.
Bamford joins DCI from the Walt Disney Company, where she served as marketing and communications manager at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Canada. Prior to that she was an account supervisor at J. Walter Thompson and a senior account executive at DDB Canada.
In her new post, Bamford will oversee the DCI's marketing communication programs and the implementation of campaigns for travel destination clients in Canada’s English and French-speaking markets.
DCI in 2015 accounted for more than $9.6 million in net fees, according to O’Dwyer’s rankings of PR firms, revealing six percent year-over-year growth from 2014. The New York-based agency maintains additional offices in Denver and Los Angeles.
