USTelecom has named Jeremy Pederson, who was senior manager of federal affairs at Frontier Communications, VP-government affairs.
Previously, Pederson served as legislative counsel to Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and clerked for then-Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Ajit Pai at George Washington University Law School.
UST CEO Jonathan Spalter said Pederson has a "trifecta of policy experience," noting that he served in the private sector, on Capitol Hill and legal fellow to now FCC chairman Pai.
UST's membership includes broadband service providers, suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
AT&T, Consolidated Communications, Frontier, Shawnee Communications, Hat Island Telephone Co., Pioneer High-Speed Internet, Big Bend Telephone Co. and Verizon.
