Amy Travieso is leaving the US Chamber of Commerce to join the American Hotel & Lodging Assn. as VP-government affairs, responsible for regulatory/legislative affairs on technology, innovation and other policy matters.
She had been the lead liaison to Democrats at the CoC’s technology engagement center.
Prior to the CoC, Travieso was deputy of chief of staff for Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar, co-chair of the Blue Dog coalition.
Brian Crawford, incoming senior VP-government affairs at ASHLA said Travieso will be instrumental in building relations and elevating the industry’s message on Capitol Hall and with the White House.
The AHLA represents hotel owners, bed & breakfasts, management companies and suppliers who represent $1.1T in annual revenues and employ 8M people.
Travieso will join the D.C-based organization on Jan. 2.
