SourceCode Communications has added Turo and Yousician to the roster of agency of record relationships in its consumer technology practice. Turo is a car sharing marketplace that operates in the US, Canada, the UK, and Germany. The company has engaged SourceCode to work with its internal team on creative initiatives and a consumer media strategy. Yousician is a music education company that says it has millions of users and the highest rating on both the Apple App and Google Play Stores. SourceCode has also brought on Nicole Pfeifer, who previously built and led the consumer technology practice at Wachsman, as a senior director. Earlier this year, the agency announced partnerships with Cambridge Mobile Telematics and Pindrop.

Eckel & Vaughan of Raleigh has been selected to provide PR services for the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau, according to The Daily Progress, the Charlottesville area’s daily newspaper. According to the RFP for the contract, Eckel & Vaughan will be tasked with driving positive earned media for the area and tourism, as well as managing the CACVB’s content strategy and development. The Daily Progress reports that CACVB interim director Adam Healy said at board meetings that hotel occupancy and tourism in the area have declined following the white nationalist rally that overran Charlottesville in 2017. Eckel will be working with CACVB and Raleigh-based advertising agency Clean.
Bob Gold & Associates has been engaged by muscle and physique show Muscle Icon to promote its South Bay Championships, taking place May 11 at the South End Racquet and Health Club in Torrance, CA. Muscle Icon says that its events focus on each competitor’s overall brand, rather than simply on his or her physique. “Our goal is to meaningfully connect athletes, fans and sponsors to foster authentic relationships for mutual benefit,” said Muscle Icon founder Dan Mendoza-Conner. The event is open to all amateur competitors and will host a variety of classes, including Men’s Classic Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Women’s Figure and Women’s Bikini. Judges for the event include four-time Mr. Universe Mike O’Hearn.
