Onclusive, a media intelligence company, partners with the Associated Press on the release of its AP Planner to public relations and communications professionals. Previously only available to the media, AP Planner lets users search for events and announcements over the next 12 months across 150 categories of data. Content is updated daily by a team of researchers in collaboration with the AP. Areas covered by the platform include domestic and international news & politics; corporate actions & annual general meetings; economic events & trade conferences; culture, entertainment & sports; anniversaries & awareness days; and key events for the upcoming election. “Whether you’re an in-house comms team wanting to get ahead of the competition, or a PR agency trying to strategically plot client work in advance, AP Planner is an essential tool,” said Onclusive director of global forward planning services Sarah Wait.

Gateway Group launches a branding & creative practice. The services offered by the new practice include: brand ideation, creation and toolkit development; rebranding and design refreshes; investor presentations; marketing materials; digital design and social media asset development. The practice is led David Walsh, who joined Gateway last year after holding senior design and presentation specialist posts at Oaktree Capital Management, Goldman Sachs and Boston Consulting Group. “A wide-ranging client base like ours comes with a broad set of communications needs,” said Gateway president Scott Liolios. “Aligning these needs with best-in-class design and creative solutions was a logical next step in expanding our communications capabilities to provide true full-service support.”

PROI Worldwide presents its 2023 PROI Founders Award to Nicola Nel, CEO of South Africa’s Atmosphere Communications. Founded by Nel in 2002, Atmosphere is an integrated brand and corporate communications consultancy with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Nel has also served as a PROI Board member and supported many initiatives and committees. “Nicola Nel has displayed a dynamic, creative and innovative approach to building her own agency for more than two decades,” said Jeff Lambert, PROI Worldwide Global Chair, and chairman of Lambert Global. “She has brought that same enthusiasm, mindset and spirit of collaboration to be a strong change agent for PROI over the years.” Honoring Nel’s achievement, PROI donated US $1,000 in her honor to BEST College, a Cape Town, South Africa, school that educates street kids with learning disabilities from gang-infested neighborhoods.
