NYU hires former president of the New York City Economic Development Corporation Kyle Kimball to serve as VP of government relations and community engagement, effective Aug. 1. Kimball most recently held the VP for government relations, regional and community affairs post at Con Edison. He has also served as a VP at Goldman Sachs. At NYU, Kimball duties will include overseeing the government and community relations team; acting as the University’s chief strategist and advisor on its relationship with government entities; and acting as the representative to the organizations, boards and non-profits with which NYU partners. “He brings a long history of involvement with the City and some of its most important issues and initiatives; a deep understanding of how institutions and government can constructively partner with one another; extensive involvement in civic organizations; and a committed belief in the importance of community stakeholder engagement,” said NYU president Linda G. Mills.
Muck Rack names Lisa Landa as its first chief marketing officer. Landa was most recently CMO at digital quality testing company Applause. She was previously senior VP of corporate marketing at Monotype and has held senior marketing posts at dynaTrace Software, Arbor Networks and Vertical Communications. "Lisa has an incredible track record of leading high-performing teams and implementing new and successful marketing programs,” said Muck Rack cofounder and CEO, Gregory Galant. “Her leadership and expertise will play a critical role in driving Muck Rack’s next growth phase.”
Rivian Automotive, which designs, develops and manufactures electric vehicles and accessories, brings on Meta VP of executive & product communications Sarah O'Brien as chief communications officer. Before coming to Meta, O'Brien was VP of communications at Tesla, and she was previously at Apple, where she led communications for Apple Watch, as well as working on global launches for iPhone, iPad, App Store and the iTunes Music Festival. At Rivian, O'Brien will oversee the company's communications function, encompassing product, consumer, internal and corporate communications.
