Austin-based healthcare communications agency Crosswind Media & Public Relations has teamed up with Massachusetts Institute of Technology student group Hacking Medicine program to promote that organization’s “HackMed Health House,” a three-day workshop focused on the intersection of chronic illness and technology solutions.
That event will take place during the 23rd Annual SXSW Interactive Festival, which begins today in Austin.
During the three-day event, industry experts and entrepreneurs will be able to interact with patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals to discuss issues and develop solutions for those suffering from chronic health conditions. Participants on Monday, March 14 will have the opportunity to pitch their heath start-up to venture capitalists and investors in a “Shark Tank" style session.
HackMed Health House will occur between March 12-14 at the Brazos Room in the JW Marriott.
Crosswind has collaborated with HCB Health, AbelsonTaylor, JUICE Pharma Worldwide and Otsuka Pharmaceutical in co-sponsoring the event and promoting Hacking Medicine’s efforts to bring digital healthcare startups, patients and venture capital groups together.
Crosswind has previously organized SXSW events for clients in the tech, healthcare, music and entertainment industries. The agency, which was founded in 2008 and holds additional offices in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Boston and New York, recently expanded its event planning offerings with the launch of sister company Crosswind Events & Experiences.
