Showtime Networks has upped Chris DeBlasio to senior VP of sports communications.
The 11-year Showtime alum guided PR for last year’s Mayweather-Pacquiao boxing match presented by the network and HBO, a production that became the highest-grossing pay-per-view event in history with $410M in US revenue.
DeBlasio joined Showtime in 2005 after five years with sports PR agency Brener Zwikel & Associates. He has also worked on the network’s mixed martial arts programming, in addition to boxing and sports documentaries.
He reports to executive VP of corporate communications Trisha Cardoso and works closely with Showtime Sports EVP and GM Stephen Espinoza.

Senior-most communications executives in the Fortune 500 earned between $50,000 and $100,000 more this year than they did two years ago, according to a recent survey of chief communications officers.

The pressure is on PR pros to make sure corporate messaging remains clear and cohesive. Business jargon is an obstacle to achieving this goal.
In today's volatile world of constant disruption, the ability to offer reliability and dependability is more valuable than ever.
